My approach to therapy is holistic and comprehensive; based not only on all that I have learned through my own life's experiences, but also on my continued love for professional training, research and study.
About Isa
I am a trained and licensed psychotherapist in the United States and have received three Master’s, one in Mental Health Counseling, one in Sociology and a Psychotherapy with EMDR Masters from UNED. I have also received 2 licenses and various certifications in mind body approaches.
I have over 25 years experience and I am currently licensed in the respective US National Boards as a LCMHC, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. Additionally, I am certified in IFS Level II, EMDR, CHt, Somatic Experiencing Level I and Trauma Informed Yoga for Mental Health. I have had extensive training in Mindfulness, Guided Imagery, Compassion Focused Therapy, Breathwork, Meditation and Mind/Body Approaches to increase and regulate functioning. I have also received the Equivalencia accreditation from the Ministerio de Universidades in Spain.
In my practice, I not only utilize traditional psychotherapy approaches but I rely deeply on holistic, mind/body and integrative therapeutic approaches essential to the improvement and regulation of functioning. I have had extensive training in the field of mental health and have treated clients across a wide spectrum of dysfunction. I am specialized in issues related to trauma, grief, loss, depression, anxiety, shame, transitions related to Expat life experiences and developmental childhood trauma. At this time I work only with adults and couples. Online sessions are also available.
In addition to the rigorous academic training and practices which I have dedicated my life throughout the last 25 plus years and to which i continue to engage in, I have enjoyed participating in many other practices which inspired, imparted wisdom and wellness. I began learning and practicing systems of Meditation, Yoga, Dance, Sound Therapy and Therapeutic Shamanic and Earth Based practices since the age of 19 and which have since then, through multiple studies and evidence based practices, become deeply integrated into the field of psychology. I'm certified as a Kundalini Yoga Teacher and a Trauma Informed Yoga for Mental Health at the 200hr level. My approach to therapy is holistic and comprehensive based - not only on all that I have learned through my own life's experiences, but on my continued love for professional training, research and study.
Currently, I live in the Barcelona area, and I am enjoying the creation of a healing, therapeutically supportive space and practice where some of this knowledge, modalities and approaches can be shared and communicated in an individual and effective manner. As an expat myself, I look forward to helping you navigate and discover effective ways to manage the challenges inherent in endings and new beginnings, and the ways in which it activates patterns linked to past trauma through holistic therapeutic interventions.
